Feasibility Studies and Engineering Options

Before committing to detailed design, understand how the alternatives differ in performance, infrastructure needs and cost. We compare equipment and layouts on a consistent engineering basis.

Scope of work

  • Definition of the study objectives, required capacity, operating modes, available resources and criteria for comparing alternatives.
  • Development of technology, equipment and layout options for an installation, production area or group of connected systems.
  • Calculation of key operating parameters and coordination with structural design, power supply, automation and other supporting systems.
  • Comparison of capital and operating costs using a consistent scope, assumptions and evaluation period.
  • Assessment of energy use, maintenance access, operating flexibility and constraints imposed by an existing facility.
  • Preparation of the preferred engineering concept, equipment requirements and the inputs needed for the next design stage.

What we deliver

  • A feasibility report or engineering concept with a documented comparison of alternatives.
  • Layouts, calculations and equipment requirements appropriate to the study stage.
  • Cost comparisons, recommendations and a clear statement of assumptions and matters to resolve during detailed design.
