The engineering task
Develop the principal engineering design solutions for the Shaft 13K ventilation complex serving PPGHO Mine No. 6 for its initial operating configuration. The scope covered the main fan plant, mine air-heating plant, and ventilation duct.
Our work
- Refined the aerodynamic system characteristic to include the resistance of the air-heating plant and ventilation duct, and established the main fan selection duty points and reserve capacity.
- Compared equipment and selected a main fan arrangement with duty and standby axial fans, variable-frequency drives, changeover dampers, and airflow reversal.
- Selected water-heated heat exchangers with standby capacity, developed the heating circuit, and arranged the equipment.
- Developed architectural and structural solutions for the air-heating building, main fan canopy, and ventilation duct.
- Defined the principal power supply, automated control, communications, and fire protection solutions, together with equipment procurement requirements.
Completed result
The client accepted the completed concept design. It establishes the equipment, ventilation operating modes, and surface plant engineering solutions for the subsequent design documentation stage.
