An engineering team for connected production systems

GPITS is the Mining Design and Engineering Center, based in Perm, Russia. Approximately 40 specialists work in two departments: mining engineering and industrial engineering.

Mining Design and Engineering Center

Our mining work covers the development of potash, uranium, gold and nonmetallic deposits and the infrastructure of underground mines. We design extraction technology, haulage, ventilation, dewatering, electrical systems and automation as parts of one production system. We are also developing our open-pit and placer mining design capability.

Our industrial department designs production and support buildings, process systems and utilities for new construction, reconstruction and modernization. Nuclear power plant engineering systems and infrastructure are an important part of this work. Assignments may cover a complete design package or a defined scope within a larger facility.

We help clients turn a production requirement into an engineering brief, compare technical options and develop the required design documentation. We then support project review and the implementation of our designs within the agreed scope. The same coordination is needed whether the assignment is a mine facility, an industrial workshop or a water treatment installation.

Our projects are in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. For Alliance Altyn at the Jerooy gold mine, we completed a feasibility study comparing main fan and intake air heating options. The client gave the study a positive assessment and provided a recommendation.

How we approach engineering

Mining and industrial disciplines

Two departments cover mining technology and industrial infrastructure, with coordinated structural, electrical and automation design.

Completed engineering stages

Our portfolio distinguishes accepted engineering concepts, completed design packages and approved mine development plans from work that is still in progress.

Experience with major operators

Projects include work for Rosenergoatom, Acron Engineering, VNIPIpromtekhnologii, ALROSA, Nornickel and Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex.

An international project reference

The feasibility study for the main fan and intake air heating installations at Jerooy, Kyrgyzstan, received a positive client assessment and recommendation.

Qualifications and documented project outcomes

Our Russian qualifications and project review results provide evidence of the work we have performed. They are presented with their actual scope and the completed stage of each assignment.

Nuclear engineering license in Russia

GPITS holds Rostekhnadzor license No. VO-10-101-4416, issued April 9, 2025. It supports our work on nuclear power plant engineering systems and infrastructure within the license conditions.

Professional membership for design and surveys

GPITS belongs to Russian self-regulatory organizations for engineering design and engineering surveys. The design membership covers hazardous production facilities and specified technically complex, unique and nuclear facilities within its permitted scope.

Mine development plan approvals

Addition No. 3 to the Talitsky potash development plan and the Kamsko-Ustinsky gypsum mine development plan were approved by the relevant Rosnedra technical project review commission.

Industrial design review results

The Zvezda transport workshop design received a positive Russian state expert review. The KTS-4 water preparation site modernization documentation at Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant received a positive industrial safety expert review.

Accepted engineering concepts and client feedback

The client accepted the engineering concept for the shaft 13K fan and air heating complex at PPGHO Mine No. 6. Alliance Altyn provided a recommendation for the completed Jerooy feasibility study.
